Imbraxton

From songs in Gaulish played on reconstructed Iron Age instruments to the multitude of musical traditions in today's Celtic countries and from Scottish dance tunes to Breton kan-ha-diskan... Imbraxton play and sing in a variety of styles from the Celtic world. Listening to Imbraxton's music is a rare opportunity to hear the Gaulish language sung today. (Gaulish died out as a spoken vernacular about 1600 years ago.)
Music
- After 2000 years at least! Imbraxton came to raise up the iron age to new live. On self constructed intruments like yokelutes, double hornpipes, panflutes, bonepipes, elderflutes, drums and with archaic songs in the long gone gaulish language they are producing an outstanding and fascinating world of sounds far away from all clichees.
- But also the today music of the celtic countries is not too modern for Imbraxton: from schottish harp music to bagpipe tunes to Breton kan-ha-diskan all this is part of their repertoire. The musicians of Imbraxton are professional musicologists, celtologists, philologists, experimental archologists and historians and in the development of their music they are working closely together with research scientists.
