Headless Nation was founded as project in Vienna, AUT, 2002 by Patrick McMullan (Guitar, Bass and MainVocal) and Herbert Hütter (Keyboard/Synthesizer and Vocal). First songs were made under the project name "ott144". The first concert 2003 were played together with new musicans Peter Pejtsik (Fiddle, Bass and Vocal, Oliver Krammer (Drums), Ingo Oesterreicher (Guitar/Percusion) and Mario Reihofer (Keyboard) as "ott144". Ingo Oesterreicher and Mario Reihofer stopped playing after two concerts.
While recording the CD "Mirror of life" (2004) as "Headless Nation" Zoltan Devenyi (E-Guitar) came on board.
This is a combination of music styles daringly put together in a pop 'slager' form which includes hints of Irish folk-rock, Austrian and Hungarian Influences, lots of humour and a darker more sardonic look at the state of the world today.
Herbert Hütter is responsible for the composition and sounds of the music which lies somewhere between pop and rave. Patrick Mc Mullan is responsible for the elements of Irish Folk, rap and the (often political) texts. Peter Pejtsik enriches the sound with his incomparably fiddle style and classical components. Oliver Krammer keeps up the beat in every situation and sometimes brings in some jazzy groove. Zoltan Devenyi is the link between all these different styles and brings them together with his extraordinary knowledge of and feeling for the right guitar sound in the right moment.
The result is a CD which is not just music for today but music of a timeless nature that will be appreciated long time into the future
