"Zivatar Utca" [siwata uza] plays with accordion, flute and drums, most of the time wild, in minor keys and danceable. the bandname is hungarian and relates to a street in budapest, translated to english it means "thunderstorm street".
That's the place where the trio from vienna met for the first time in spring 2006. Since then, they played more than 100 live concerts and recorded a studio- album.
"Gewitterstrasse" released 2008
The music of zivatar utca is influenced by eastern european music, ska, reggae and dub- tunes.
Analogue sounds alternate with disco- beats.... zivatar utca - thunderstorm street - in any case, the name is program. In autunm 2008, a contrabass- player joined the band, which makes the sound of zivatar utca even richer.
In february 2009, the band will perform at the vienna accordion-festival.
